Music on Blogs

I added music to my blog a few days ago. I usually hate when I go to a website/blog and their music starts blaring so originally I wasn't going to have music on my site. But there have been a few blogs because of their music selection, that puts me into a better mood. So I decided that I wanted some music and that I would put some of my favorite relaxing music selections on my site and I love the new Bella's Lullaby from Twilight (I want to find the music and learn how to play it. It is such a pretty song. I only wish that I had kept up on my piano playing. I still play some but I am not as good as I once was.) Anyway, if you don't want the music I moved it to the top of the page so you can easily turn it off while you look at the blog. And any of you that would like to add music to your site just click on the little link under my music that says "Create your free playlist" and pick your songs and create your own. It is easy to do and if you want some of the same songs that I have you can add it by clicking on the add button just right of the song title.

Kylan basketball highlights

We have wanted to do some basketball highlights of Kylan's games for those of you that don't get to see him play. Here are some of them from one of his games. Notice after Kylan's first freethrow he leaves his friend hanging on a high five but his friend grabs his hand and gives himself one. It is sooo funny.

Down Memory Lane (kind of)

This is my old highschool. It is now the middle school and my mom is a teacher there. The new principle is a kid that I went to school with. He was a year or two younger than me. It brings back memories to see the school and gym that I spent so much time in.

Heather needs...

I saw this on a few of the FB accounts but since I am mainly about my blog (still haven't figured out why FB is so fun-I'll give it a little longer), I thought that I would post it here. What you do is go to google or whatever search engine you use and type in your name and the word "needs" and see what comes up.
Here are mine. They are pretty funny.

Heather needs...
1.Two therapists - for what? Maybe I need to go to find out.
2. To grow up - Oh maybe this is why I need #1.
3. A childhood - What? I thought that I needed to grow up.
4. Facebook - Too funny
5. Help - definitely
6. Gatorade - Sure, I will take some.
7. A bigger cup to hide behind - Not sure what this means
8. A caffeine injection straight to the veins to kick into gear this morning. - I have had some mornings like this
9. A vacation - Yes, Yes, I do
10. Surgery - for what? I hope not.
11. A joint - Oh, maybe this is why I need surgery. I didn't know that I was missing a joint
12. A bicycle - Sure I would love one
13. A man - Um no, I already have one.
14. To go - I will end on that note because I really do need to go and get something done today.

Family Picture

Hunter was learning about families in school a while back and they drew their family. Hunter brought his picture home and it made me laugh.

Here we are:

I like how long my lashes are.

I like Stephen's stubble.

Green, Green, Green

We usually don't do anything but wear green for St. Patty's Day. But this year I was feeling a little more energetic. I think that it was because of the awesome weather that we had yesterday. Anyway, I made green dinner. Nothing special but we had green eggs, milk and koolaid. (We had other things with this, just these were the green things)
My husband and kids didn't want to eat the eggs because I made them pretty green. Stephen said that it looked like play dough.

My kids were hesitant to drink the green milk but they finally tried it. But then there was a little left for this morning and they didn't want to put it into their cereal for breakfast. They said that it looked too weird.

Like I said not very creative. We usually don't do much for this holiday. I am still not sure why we celebrate this holiday. Well, at least we had a little fun with the green.

This made my day!

I am so glad that I checked the mail today. I usually only check my mail once maybe twice a week. It is not one of my favorite things. It usually only contains bills. But I am so glad that I checked the mail on the way home from picking up Hunter from kindergarten. It made my day! Guess what I got. I got Jen's prize from her blog, which you can check out here. She made me an awesome bracelet!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!!!
Can you see the excitement on my face?
Thanks Jen!
I need to get my prizes done. I had a couple of things in mind but I might have to think about it a little longer because you have set the bar high.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

What do you call curly fries?

A few years ago my kids came across a really curly fry from Arbys. You know those ones that are really long and curly. Well, Kylan said that it looked like George Washington hair. (He must have been learning about the President and seen a picture of the white wig that they sometimes wore in that day.) Anyway, ever since my kids call those really curly fries George Washington fries. The funniest thing is Beck doesn't know who George Washington is but he has watched George Lopez and so he calls them George Lopez fries. We laugh every time we get Arby curly fries.

Why St. Patrick's Day?

Why do we celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Who is St. Patrick and what did he do?
I am not a huge celebrator of this holiday. I wear green and make sure my kids wear green also so that we don't get pinched but what is the purpose of this holiday? Why do we wear green and why if you don't, do you get pinched?
Maybe if I were Irish this holiday would mean more to me but I know several people who are not Irish that celebrate this holiday. If you are not Irish but still celebrate St. Patrick's Day do you also celebrate Cinco de Mayo and all of those holidays?

I understand the meaning of most holidays: (a short little summary of the holidays)
Christmas - the birth of Christ
Easter - the resurrection of Christ
Thanksgiving - our ancestors and remembering to be thankful
Veterans Day - remember and be thankful for those that have fought for our country
Independence Day - the independence of our country
ETC...
There are others but I won't go into every one. But what is the purpose of St. Patrick's Day? What are we suppose to be celebrating, remembering or being thankful for?

I have always wondered this and that is probably the reason that we don't really celebrate it.
So, I googled St. Patrick today and I wasn't really impressed. It sounds like his stories have all been made up or exaggerated. Although he sounds like an alright guy, there are so many others that have done so much more that we don't celebrate.

So, I am wondering...do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? How do you celebrate, do you have traditions? And what are your reasons for celebrating St. Patrick's day?
