So I have heard a lot about Facebook lately from different family and friends. I tried to check it out for a few minutes a couple of weeks ago but didn't get into it very long. Those of you that use it let me know what the benefits are of using it. Why do you have a Facebook page and a blog? What are the differences?

Do you need a laugh?

A couple of months ago there was a show of the best commercials. We recorded it and have watched it a couple of times. This one is my kids favorite one and I think that it is cute also. I bet you can guess which part makes my kids laugh.

Hunter came home the other day with what they did in art at school. If you can't tell what the picture is...it is an exploding snowman. Oooh, the difference between girls and boys!


My SIL Shauntae posted this to her blog a few days ago and it has kept me laughing every time I think about it, so I wanted to share it with anyone who might not have seen it.



The parent sent a note the following day:

Dear Mrs. Jones,
I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer.
I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot.
From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.

Family Fun Time

My mom and a couple of my sisters with most of the kids came and visited us between Christmas and New Years. It was fun to see them and hectic with 8 boys running around our house.

The boys were so excited to lay and watch a movie before bed. Here are half of the boys getting ready for bed.

We all had so much fun. The kids ran and played non-stop.

Beck and Ryan had fun playing around. Here they are saying goodbye when they had to leave.

Here is the whole group. We have a 10, 7, 6 and 5 year old. Three 3 year olds and an 18 month old. There was a lot of running and playing.

Then New Years we had the family party at our house. The adults played a fun game that Jenney brought. It was hilarious. I didn't realize how hard it would be to find until my SIL Shauntae posted on her blog that it is now out of production and selling on Amazon for $389.99! You have got to be kidding me. I hope nobody pays that price for this game. It was fun but not THAT much fun.

Kandie and Beck always love playing together. They had fun playing on the computer when they got a turn.

Then they both had fun playing with a new toy that we got for Christmas.

Then Nick and Stephen played a game that Hunter got for Christmas. It is a Star Wars laser tag game. It was funny to see them running around our house. Here Stephen is explaining how it works to Nick.

And of course we had my MIL's delicious 7 layer dip. I love this stuff.

We watched the ball drop with Dick Clark and then gave kisses and hugs and said goodbye to everyone and went to bed. We had a lot of fun playing and eating and it was a good thing that Stephen didn't have work and the kids didn't have school so we could all sleep in the next day.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Why I needed to break the Sabbath and why I am going to go broke because of it.

My family is sick. I had to run to the store because we used all of the Children's Tylenol that we had. I got a little sick about a week ago. It didn't hit me full on but I felt it coming and luckily fought it off without getting too bad (I was still able to work). My family didn't get so lucky. Stephen started not feeling well about Thursday and was really bad Friday with fever and chills and sore throat and cough and all of it. I had to take Friday night off of work to watch the kids and in January that is a big deal. Everyone else was good until Saturday late afternoon, Kylan and Beck started not feeling very well right before I had to leave for work. Then Sunday morning Hunter was sick also. So, I left them all home with a movie to watch while I went to church to play the piano for RS. We had almost a full bottle of Children's Tylenol Saturday morning but with three kids sick with fever and all of it we ran out Sunday afternoon. I don't feel bad about it though. It is one of those things that had to be done. I just am going to go broke because of how expensive the medicine is and I am going to have to go get some more soon again. Stephen felt well enough to go to work today but the kids are still lounged out on the couch with fevers and coughs. I have had a weekend of bringing water, juice, popsicles, soup and whatever else 3 kids and a husband has needed. Luckily, Gavin hasn't gotten it and hopefully he won't. Even though I am not sick and we had a lazy weekend, I am tired. Hopefully with everyone sick at the same time will mean that it will be a while until we are sick again.

Beck

Beck is such a funny, sweet little boy. He makes me laugh and he has the cutest little smile. Some of the funny things that he has done lately are:

Kylan got a Nintendo DS for Christmas. Beck loves to play it and can play the Mario game that Kylan got with his DS. He loves when the kids are at school so that he can have uninterrupted time to play. The only problem is Gavin won't leave him alone and wants a turn to play, which Gavin is too young and doesn't get a turn. So Beck has found a place to play the DS that Gavin can't get to.

The back of the couch. If you noticed, in the last couple of pictures his shirt is inside out. He got himself dressed and wouldn't let me fix it. I couldn't complain when he did it himself.

Another funny thing was a couple of days ago, I was busy on the computer and realized that I hadn't seen or heard Beck for a few minutes and went to find out why. He was in the bathroom combing his own hair. When I said "Oh, you want your hair spiky today". He said"I want to be Kirilenko today". Kirilenko is a Utah Jazz basketball player if any of you didn't know and his hair is sometimes spiky and weird.

I love you Beck. You make me smile and laugh everyday!

This post was inspired by my mom sending me a video of this lady and my cousin wondering how to post videos. So I went to YouTube to make sure how to post a video to be able to tell her. I got a little carried away. Anyway, how I posted these (I am sure there are other ways) were when you are watching the video on YouTube there is a couple of little boxes next to the video. You copy the information in the "embed" box and then just paste it into a "New Post". I don't use the add video button or anything. I just paste the text into the regular box and it has worked for me.

A New Year, A New Church Time

After church today

Today was the first Sunday of the New Year. We had the 1 o'clock last year and let me tell you, it was a struggle. It is hard to go to church so late in the day especially when you have little ones that need naps. We spent a lot of the year in the halls with Gavin.

Today we started the 9 o'clock church. It was great! We all got up and ready and went. Although I know that it will be a struggle sometimes to get up and ready on time, it will be so much better this year.

Today was also Beck's first day in Primary. His teacher needed a little bit of help during the first part while they were switching teachers and classes and rooms and all of that fun stuff so I volunteered to sit with his class. I was very proud of how Beck just went in and sat with his class and participated during singing and sharing time. He has a lot of fun and loves that he is a big kid like his older brothers.

Today was also Gavin's first day in nursery. Can I just say "YEA"? Stephen went with him this first time since Gavin was a little hesitant. Stephen said that about half way through he started warming up and having fun. So I hope this means that he will love it and we can just drop him off and not worry about peeling him from our legs while he cries. Gavin really liked snack time. Stephen said that Gavin finished his snacks and started helping the others eat their snacks. We will have to work on that. Maybe this has something to do with being the littlest at our house. The funniest thing is, we don't have many broken crayons at our house right now because we bought quite a few new boxes at the beginning of the school year. When we got the new boxes we threw away the old broken crayons. I guess while Gavin was coloring in nursery every time he came across a broken crayon he said "uh, oh" and threw the crayon away in the garbage. This is another thing that we will have to work on. Stephen retrieved a few of them but we might have to donate one of our boxes to the nursery.

Another thing that I can't believe is that Kylan moved to the Valiant 11 boys class. I guess I didn't realize how close he is to leaving Primary. I know that he has this year left but it is getting close. He only has this year and a few more months. It is crazy.

Anyway, I vote to stay on this schedule. Whoever decided that the 1 o'clock church was a good idea didn't have little ones.
