Gavin turns 2!

Our cute little Gavin turned 2 in June! I can't believe that he has been a part of our family for 2 years. Time flies! We love him so much and he really does bring us a lot of joy and laughs.

We first started celebrating on his actual birthday day. We went and had lunch at a park with Stephen and then the kids and Stephen brought ice cream down to my work for one of my breaks.

For his birthday party we decided to have the theme of wild animal because he is our little wild one. We sometimes call him wild animal. So his cake was lion cupcakes.

We went out to Newton and had a really good bbque. We bbqued chicken with two different marinades. One of them was a A&W rootbeer bbque sauce. It was really good and tasted a little bit like rootbeer. I know that it sounds weird but it actually was pretty good.

For everyone's birthday dinner my MIL makes their favorite food. We decided that Gavin's favorite food was fruit. So we ate some of his favorite fruits along with our bbque.

After dinner the kids played around outside for a little while. Hunter was a sweetheart and gave Gavin many horsey rides.

Next we played a couple of games. Here the kids were pretending to be hippos and trying to get muddy!!!

The kids had to feed the lion and Gavin figured out an easier way to feed him other than through his mouth.
Finally we opened presents.
Gavin loved being able to open his own presents.

After blowing out the candles...

We had another one of Gavin's favorite treats. Popsicles! This was our cake and ice cream.

After cleaning up the kids went back out and played with one of Gavin's new toys... a bubble lawn mower. He loved running from his brothers.

But he also loved stopping and popping the bubbles himself.
We love you Gavin and am so glad that you are part of our family! Happy 2nd birthday!

Where can you go?

My sister sent me this email and I had to share. I had seen a couple of these pictures before but hadn't really paid attention to them.

Anyway, here is a toilet in Houston

Look at the view on the inside. Would you be able to do your business with this type of view. I would feel so exposed.

Then check out this bathroom's floor. Would you be able to walk into there? I am sure that I would be pretty hesitant.

Now, look at this ceiling of a smoker's lounge. Kind of funny!

Kylan is 11

Kylan's birthday was in May. I can't believe that he is 11. He is such an awesome young man. He is a sweetheart that is so kind and loving to his little brothers, he is an awesome student at school who does his homework as soon as he comes home without being asked and he is always caring about others feelings and tries his hardest to make everyone happy.

For his family birthday we played with the Drapers. It was bad weather that day so we had to do all of our activities inside.
First they played with some balloons. All of the kids had fun.

The group of kids

Kylan is really into basketball, so his cake this year was a basketball.

He had fun trying to blow out his candles. He blew...

And blew...

And blew...

And blew. He got help from everyone and finally got all of the candles blown out. He thought that it was fun to have the relighting candles.

He loved all of this presents, especially all of the money. He is to the age that everything that he wants costs more than a few dollars, so everyone has given him money for his birthday for the last couple of years and then he can buy a couple of bigger ticket items that he has had his eye on.

Look how big he is. He almost doesn't fit on my lap anymore.

We love you Kylan and am so glad to have you in our lives!

Soccer

Hunter just got done with his soccer season. He LOVED soccer this year. He did so well. He was definitely the high scorer on his team. In three different games he scored 5 goals each time and there was only one game that he didn't get any goals. It was really fun to watch him start to understand how to play the game and start trying to pass the ball instead of just following the herd. He was really good with teamwork and sharing the ball. He was good at trying to get all of his teammates involved and he helped a couple kids that didn't get many goals to get some in the last couple of games. It was really fun to watch him this year and we are so proud of his teamwork and enthusiasm.
