Weekend plans changed

This last weekend Kylan had a basketball tournament down in Roy. He was actually playing with the sixth graders because they had a couple of guys that couldn't make the tournament. We were pretty excited to go and see how he played against kids that were older than he was and taller. He actually was the 3rd tallest kid on his team which was a new experience for him.
Heather spent Friday getting ready and packed, Stephen got off work early and we headed down to the high school for the tournament.
We were doing really well with time getting to the school at 6:10 when his first game started at 7:00. As we were walking in there were a lot of girls walking in for a dance competition. My boys commented that they were glad that they didn't have any sisters and that they didn't have to sit through dance competitions. I am sure that I would feel differently if I had a daughter but I agreed with them.
As we got to the door we saw his coach and he said that the tournament had been changed to a different location. Apparently nobody let our coach know. So we left one of the parents of the kids behind to let the others know and we headed to the new location with some pretty bad directions. It took us until 6:50 to get to the new location. We ran in hoping everyone else showed up in time to make the game that started in 10 minutes. As we went in and tried to sign in the lady behind the desk said that the tournament had been changed to a different location. She tried to sent us back to the place we had just been but our coach finally got her to call the person in charge of the tournament and apparently it had actually been moved to a 3rd location even farther south. There was no way we were going to make it to the game in time but we tried hoping that they would be lenient with us.
So once again we left one of the parents behind to guide the rest of the team that were still on their way and headed to the 3rd location. We finally showed up in the right place at 7:15 and ran in. We had 5 players with us and decided we could at least start the game and hopefully everyone else wasn't too far behind. We ran in and found an empty gym with the refs sitting on the bleachers. Apparently nobody was told about the location changing and almost nobody showed up. Pretty lame planning. Anyway, our coach decided to just get his money back and apologized to everyone for wasting their time. We were a little disappointed but there wasn't anything we could do about it.
We decided to not make the night a complete waste. We love to watch Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on Food Network. They made a trip to Utah and we decided to try one of the places that they had visited in Roy.

This is just a little hamburger joint and doesn't have any seating. So you either have to take it to go or eat it in your car. We decided to get out our camp chairs and eat next to our van.

We liked this place. We just all got hamburgers which came with a lot of fries and fry sauce. When we were done we tried a couple of their shakes and they were really good. When we got home we re-watched the episode with this place on it and decided that next time we go we need to be a little bit more adventurous. We are going to try the buffalo burger, onion rings and maybe the elk burger.
